Rules For Conduct Of Tournament

Regulations to Conduct State Tournaments for the Year 2024

The State Ranking Tournaments, State Championships & Inter District Championships are ‘Prestigious’ events of the TSTTA and the host Association and players are required to treat them as such and the guidelines/directives should be followed thoroughly.

The tournaments shall be allotted to the affiliated Districts/registered academies/clubs and Institutions by TSTTA.

The venue dates and option to conduct these tournaments shall be decided by the TSTTA in coordination with the host association.

Affiliated Districts, Academies, and Institutions:
  • Affiliated Districts, Academies, and Institutions who are given the option to conduct the State Ranking Tournaments are required to pay a Tournament Fee of Rs.10,000/- to TSTTA.
  • The State Ranking Tournaments, State Championships & Inter District Championship shall compulsorily include the following events in line with TTFI:
    • Men's Singles
    • Women’s Singles
    • Various Youth Boys and Girls Singles categories (U-19, U-17, U-15, U-13, U-11)
  • Additional events may be included at the discretion of the host association, such as doubles events, mixed doubles, para singles, Inter School Team championships, veterans & non-medalist event.
  • In State Championships & Inter District Championships, Team Championship Event only for Men, Women & Junior (Under-19) Boys shall compulsorily be included.

Playing Facilities:
  • The Hall should be big enough to accommodate a minimum of 6 to 8 Tables along with surrounds.
  • Flooring must be Wooden/Synthetic.
  • Light intensity must be minimum 800 - 1000 Lux, uniformly spread over the playing arena.
  • The light source shall not be less than 5.0 meters above the floor.
  • It is mandatory for Host Association to arrange a Computer with Internet facilities and a colour printer at the venue for Competition Manager and Media Manager.
  • Sitting arrangements must be sufficient for parents & spectators.
  • The non-local technical officials should be given decent accommodation on twin-sharing basis by host association.
  • Drinking water stations should be arranged at the field of play.
  • Proper canteen facilities should be made available at the venue at nominal cost.
  • Medical facilities shall be provided at the venue by the host.
  • ITTF/TTFI Approved 3 STAR Balls shall be provided by the host for the Championships.
  • Only TTFI approved tables and balls will be used and the same shall be in good condition.

In State Championships & Inter District Championships all outstation participating teams should be given decent accommodation and Standard food (vegetarian) near the venue by host association.

General Facilities:
  • Technical committee of TSTTA may inspect the venue well in advance.
  • Apart from Principal Office bearers, Chairman Technical committee, Chairman Selection committee and District Secretaries may be given free accommodation during the championships.
  • Proper place & facilities for the press & media shall be arranged and host association/academy shall arrange Press Conference two days before commencement of Championships.
  • The Open draws/seedings may be held at TSTTA office.
  • The Chief Referee along with Chairman Technical Committee shall prepare the draws & schedule for the tournament.

Players’ Eligibility:

Only registered players of TSTTA will be allowed to participate in the State Ranking Tournaments. The registration fee of Rs.500/- for both existing players & new registrations.

  • The Youth Boys & Girls Singles U-19 events shall be open to only those players, who are born on or after 01.01.2006.
  • The Youth Boys & Girls Singles - U-17 events shall be open to only those players, who are born on or after 01.01.2008.
  • The Youth Boys & Girls Singles - U-15 events shall be open to only those players, who are born on or after 01.01.2010.
  • The Youth Boys & Girls Singles – U 13 events shall be open to only those players, who are born on or after 01.01.2012.
  • The Youth Boys & Girls Singles – U 11 events shall be open to only those players, who are born on or after 01.01.2014.

Note: There shall be no restriction on participation and players shall be allowed to participate in any number of categories. However, players shall have to cooperate and adhere to the timings of the schedule.

Entry Fees:

The entry fees for participating in the State Ranking Tournaments shall be as below:

  • Under 11 Boys & Girls & Under 13 Boys & Girls - Rs.500/-
  • Under 15, Under 17 & Under 19 Boys & Girls - Rs.800/-
  • Seniors Men & women event – Rs.1000/-
  • Doubles & Mixed doubles event – Rs.1000/-
  • Para event – Free (entries should be minimum 6)
  • Masters event – Rs.500/- (for any age category)
  • The entry fee for all districts players excluding twin cities will be 50% of the above mentioned fee structure.

The Method of Play:
  • If the entries in any category are less than 48, the draw shall be on a knockout basis.
  • In any category, if the entries are more than 48, qualifying matches shall be held in groups and the qualified players shall be placed in the Main draw.
  • Top 8 ranked players shall be placed directly in the Main draw.
  • Matches for The Youth Boys & Girls Singles – U 11 / The Youth Boys & Girls Singles – U 13 / The Youth Boys & Girls Singles – U 15 / The Youth Boys & Girls Singles – U 17 shall be played best of 5 throughout (in line with TTFI revised regulations).
  • Matches for The Youth Boys & Girls Singles – U 19 shall be played best of 5 games up to and including Semi-finals. Only finals shall be played best of 7 games.
  • Matches for Seniors (Men & Women) shall be played best of 5 games up to & including Quarter finals. Only Semi finals & the finals shall be played best of 7 games.
  • All qualifying matches shall be played best of 5 games.
  • All the doubles events shall be played best of 5 games on a knockout basis.

The Prospectus:
  • Prospectus for State Rankings and State Championships & Inter District Championships shall be sent by TSTTA to all the affiliated District Associations, Academy/Clubs, and Institutions at least 10 days prior to the commencement of the Championship.
  • That the Championship is conducted under the direction of the TSTTA and under the rules and regulations laid down by the TTFI.
  • The Dates and Venue of the Championships.
  • Last date of entries & last date of withdrawal.
  • List of EC Members-TSTTA, Organizing Committee & Technical Committee.
  • All the players must submit their entries for tournaments & pay online through their respective District Association/registered academy. Direct entry from individuals shall not be entertained.
  • Entry / Registration Fees: The District Associations/Academy should send entries of the players and pay the relevant fees online.
  • Withdrawal of entries: If some players fail to turn up after entering, the fees of those who have entered but not withdrawn before the deadline is NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • If the entry is withdrawn within the stipulated date & time (the same should be informed by Email to TSTTA – telanganastatetta@gmail.com), the entry fee shall be refunded within 7 working days after the tournament.

Role of Competition Manager/Chief Referee:
  • The Competition Manager and host shall send to the State Association the following details within 7 days of the conclusion of the Championships:
    • Certified copies of the Draw for all events.
    • Detailed results of all events with scores.
    • One to Sixteen position of all events.
    • Photographs of Tournament mainly ceremonial pictures.
    • Any other information which in the opinion of the Host Association/Competition Manager should be brought to the State Association notice including details of instance of indiscipline of Players/Coaches/Parents and misconduct and performance of Umpires etc.
  • The Chief Referee under the supervision of the Competition Manager shall conduct the draw for the Tournament in consultation with Technical Committee, TSTTA.
  • Schedule and fixtures shall be prepared by the Competition Manager under the supervision of the TSTTA.

Prizes/ Merit Certificates:
  • Merit Certificates and Cash Prizes to the Winners, Runner, and 2nd Runner-up.
  • TSTTA has decided that prizes to the winners should be in the form of Prize money & Rolling trophies/medals.
  • The host association shall present individual prizes in men, women, youth boys, youth girls, junior boys, junior girls, sub-junior boys, sub-junior girls, cadet boys, and cadet girls singles events as per the guidelines of TSTTA. Certificates of performance may also be issued.
  • The organizers shall offer the following minimum prize money. Total minimum prize money will be Rs. 1,88,000/-.

  • Rolling trophies for the state championship will be sent by TSTTA.

Organising Criteria:
  • Prospectus shall be uploaded on TSTTA website and circulated by mail to all EC members, District Associations, and Academy co-ordinators.
  • Cash prize money as mentioned in the TSTTA circular shall be awarded by the host association. If a host association wishes to award any other prizes/memento, they may do so in consultation with the TSTTA.
  • The Chief Guest for the Opening and Closing ceremonies shall be fixed by the Host association in consultation with TSTTA.
  • One technical delegate shall inspect all arrangements well in advance and all his expenses shall have to be borne by the host Association.
  • Proper facilities for media persons shall be arranged by the host association which shall also arrange a press conference prior to the commencement of the championships.
  • Proper canteen facilities should be arranged at the venue and the Host association must arrange food for the players at subsidized rates and the same should be informed to the participating players prior to the tournament.
  • Drinking water to be provided at the venue.
  • The TSTTA shall nominate a member of the Technical Committee to attend the Championships to guide the Organizers. The Competition Manager, Chief Referee, and Technical Delegates shall take decision on behalf of the TSTTA.
  • The non-local members of the Selection Committee shall be provided free hospitality during the championship by the host association.
  • Merit certificates shall be printed in consultation with TSTTA.

On all matters pertaining to the Championship not covered under the above rules, the decision of the Executive Committee of the TSTTA shall be final and binding.
